What happend in the last episode of gilmore girls?

Lorelai and Christopher pretty much broke up. He found the letter that was a character reference she had written for Luke to get custody of April, and realized how much Lorelai still thought of Luke. So Chris took off, meanwhile Lorelai's dad has a heart attack and is in the hospital, and Chris never even comes. But Luke does. Finally Chris comes, stays 5 minutes and leaves, but Luke is there for the long haul and is way more supportive.
